Becherer & Horcher were married yesterday morn. at Coloumbia [sic]. Rosalia came we stretched curtains today. Went to New Athens this afternoon to dentist. We had chicken soup dinner. Uncle Fred & A. [Aunt] Mary, Bill [Klein] got Leo [Orlet], all came this eve. we repapered spots in kitchen. Henry brought load corn. They had there baby girl christened Joyce Elizabeth yesterday. Mrs. Adolph Klube sponsor. Mr & Mrs. Elmer Haudrich have baby girl born Sun. also.

Nice day. Went to Belleville, sold 4 bus. peaches potatoes apples tomatoes, pickles, eggs, summer sausage, sold everything. Leroy Haudrich have baby girl born this morning. Picked peaches sold bu. to Hy. Bruns; bu. to Joe Watchels, 1/2 bu. to Renneckers, pk. to Lauts; gave Hy. bu. some for canning & preserves.

Washed, ironed; canning peaches, tomatoes. Uncle Fred & A. [Aunt] Mary were up, he helped put up stands for pinic [sic]. German band played for John Myerscough, Daougertys. Elvira Haudrich have a baby born two weeks ago, twins were just yr old Sat.; now have 5 children. Rained this eve. little shower. Emil takes care of Ben Heyls stock & Peffers are living in house till Ben Heyls get back, are visiting Ed Brand in Alabama. Nearly all threshing machines finished today & pulled in sheds, Bruns is still out yet. Frischkorn & Schillings Klotz’s finished.

Billies [Willis] 6 yrs. birthday. Henry was up this morn. Raining this morn. & good shower this afternoon. Church pinics [sic] at Red Bud & Paderborn. We went to Red Bud for supper, Bill [Klein] came down from work at Smithton, & went to Paderborn pinic [sic], didn’t win a thing there. Some of the prizes, set of knives & forks to Ray Neff & quilt to Gert Neff, case beer to Cyril Haudrich, spread, Geo Orlet, gas [? – unclear] to Smithton spread to Jac Schoenborn; flour to Fred Watchels & others.

Cleaned chicken yard. Went to Paderborn to funeral of Isd. Watchel 23. Gardener Undertaker, nice flowers, large funeral, thresher all quit so long up there. Fr. Weskamp didn’t make no sermon; pall bearers were Bill Klein, Cyril Haudrich, Jonny Mueth, Jerome Haudrich, Sly. Kabureck & Sly Neff. Went to Waterloo got check for wheat allotment $31.20. Feurer farm $6.29 & Henrys $24.91. Bill [Klein] came this evening.

Cloudy. Uncle Fred & A. [Aunt] Mary came awhile, they were to see Kochs by New Athens. Elmer Haudrich was here to look at hog feeders; wants to make one. Raining again this eve. Eggs still 14 [cents]. Dr. Frein was buried yesterday morn. Tomorrow is the 25 Silver Wedding Ann. of Mr & Mrs Vic. Eichenseer, had the mass this morn. Henry was by Emil’s this eve..

Cloudy, with April showers. Pap took chev. to Red Bud, got oil changed etc, 3040 miles. Feruer was here, he signed the apliance paper at Kammlers & so pap had to go to sign. Uncle Fred & A. [Aunt] Mary came, they were at Smithton bank paid taxes. Mauff vegetable agent was here we bought doz. oranges. Leo & family came this eve. They were at Haudrichs wedding dance.

Cloudy with showers. Went to mass. Children made there first Holy Communion; all dressed in white. Uncle Fred & A. [Aunt] Mary stopped in after mass awhile. Hubert McDermoot & Miss Schmidt were published for 2nd. time today. Mr. & Mrs. Lerow Haudrich are having there wedding dance at Totsch’s tonite, Uncle Fred & A. [Aunt] Mary got invitation card. The Happy Ramblers Orc. are playing & giving a dance at Kammlers tonite. Bill [Klein] came Bert [Bertille] went along to Dr. Eckerts, he wanted to pay him.

Easter Mon. Went to Waterloo took 12 bus. wheat in @ 65 [cents]. Went to New Hanover to Kettler to get hatching eggs & he never got our card so he had not saved only got 5 doz.; went to Leo’s had dinner there & went & ordered eggs white wyandottes from Rese’s till Wed. Leroy Haudrich & Lorreta Scharf were married a week ago today in St. Louis; had to be married during lent living with his folks now at present, picture was in paper. Alb Cleveland was here wants to work up the wood in woods for 10 [cents] load.

Sawed wood 5 3/4 hrs. Leroy Haudrich had saw Shields & Leo & Uncle Fred helped; they came home for dinner, had chicken, made pumpkin pie this morning.
