We washed, hung it in the basement, cleaned chick house. Went out to Henry’s this afternoon, finished the front room, put wax floor & furniture, beat the rug etc. Emil was down awhile. Uncle Adam’s birthday 86 yrs old; girls were home yesterday he said. Mr. & Mrs. Gus Geodelle came out, Henry has a sick heifer. Eggs 21¢. Rose took old hens to Eichenseers, got 16¢ for 6 – .08 for 1. Hy Volkmann is pretty sick, has double pneoumiana [sic], have a nurse there now at nights; no one is allowed in, only the ones that take care of him. Tiptown parish is giving euchre tonite. Mrs. Neff is getting buried this morning, from the home of Ben Neff to Paderborn, church & cemetery; that is his mother, also Mrs. Joe Schilling.

Wednesday, May 1, 1935

Schools Public are out today, with pinics [sic]. Papa went on a trip, Red Bud, Waterloo, paid pew rent $10.00, & gave Father the quilt that we made, to donate to the church, Goose Track. Mrs. Donahue was buried this morning Tiptown & Kirsh this afternoon at Red Bud. Uncle Fred & Aunt Mary were up; We went to church. May Devotion tonite; Paderborn Church is giving a euchre this evening. Boy! did it rain, about 1:30, thunder, terrible wind storm, blew some more shingles of the roof; also Fred Eichenseers little house. We cut lawn trimmed everything this morning. Patched this afternoon.

Easter. Henry & family were up for dinner & supper, rabbit laid 12 eggs. Uncle Fred, Aunt Mary came this afternoon, had supper; We went to Church, 7:30 High mass & benediction. Mr. Tom Kelley of Tiptown died Fri. morning, will be buried, tomorrow morning, he made his home with Ambrose Doyle; buried from there to Tiptown church & cemetery.

Magaret [sic] is getting buried at Tiptown Church & cemetery this morning, we surely would of like to went, but the roads wasn’t none so good. She was 37 yrs. old. Uncle Fred & Aunt Mary came this evening; he did a little work about the place; up here. They have services this evening but she didn’t go.

Wednesday, Feb. 27, 1935

We went out to Henry’s quilting, had dinner & lunch. Mrs. Cleveland, Mrs. Gus & Dan Geodelle, Aunt Mary were all helping. Floyd lighted a match to the straw stack & burned it down, it was terrible, wind was in the west; we tore the rail fence all away yet; quite a few men came to help, from that line, & some kids stunts, there were playing in the stack, had houses. We all went out again this evening, helped quilt; men were out. There is a euchre in Paderborn “Here Comes Charlie” a play by Tiptown parish at Oak Grove, we didn’t go to either one. Mr. Burmeister came & loaded our heifer up took it along to Strecks; for $35.00.

Wednesday, Jan. 16, 1935

We washed, ironed; fried in sausage & ribs etc. Rose got a letter from Margaret McDermott, stating that there will be a card party tomorrow nite at Donahue’s, given by Tiptown Parish. George Wagner got doz. eggs @ 24¢. Renneckers boarder is leaving tomorrow for St. Louis, Mr. Smith, he has a higher position with St. Louis Diary [sic – Dairy]. Saymenger of below Red Bud, has his job at the station here now, has been working for last 4 days. The Fire House & City Hall is nearly completed now, except the roofing yet.

Thursday, Nov. 15, 1934

We took our turnips in. Bernice Wagner got ½ doz. eggs. Papa hauled 2 loads wood. Uncle Fred & Aunt Mary & Josie Keller gave us a short call, then they all left for St. Louis; 500 3 Christy Ave. she took eggs along, she also went down & gave Lizzie Boll a call. The St. Patricks church  of Tiptown is giving a fish fry & shooting match tonight at Oak Grove; we went , but didn’t win any; had a dance also, Adm 25. AuBchons [sic] Orc. played. We stoped [sic] at Henry’s.

Sunday, Sept. 9, 1934

Uncle Fred & Aunt Mary came, then we all went to Waterloo to Pautler’s Park, Tiptown labor day pinic [sic]. Berti won alarm clock playing & bluey, Aunt Mary 3 pc. set knife for kitchen use; nice crowd, Moonlighters playing, dancing in afternoon free. evening supper 50¢ gents 25 ladies 15.

Monday, Sept. 3, 1934

Uncle Fred & Aunt Mary had dinner & supper here, she got some wieners; we went to Red Bud, seen the parade, it rained all night & all morn; got so cold this evening we went home from the pinic [sic]. Tiptown had no pinic [sic] today.

Sunday, July 15, 1934

Went to church, Red Bud. Uncle Fred & Aunt Mary called in a little, going to the hospital this afternoon. Bert went to Renneckers got Red Bud paper. The Sisters of Precious Blood have Vacation School in Tiptown, tonight giving a play, that is children from 1st to 8 grade. Mr. & Mrs. Rennecker came over this evening.
