Papa got crushing done. We finished the quilt & took it out of the frame. Mrs. Joe Watchel & boy where here this afternoon, & invited us to go to Angela’s Eichenseer’s this evening, she is 18 yrs. old today. Rosalia & Bertille went, stopped in at Watchel & till she was ready then by Laut’s, Olivia & boys went too, & Clarence Wittenauer & Cecil Pour where the only ones at the party, we played 6 hand pinochle, hamburger sandwiches, & pickles, & cake, where served, we gave her a towel & Clarence brought here a Ivory compact, that is all she got then. Uncle Fred & Aunt Mary where at Rod & Gun Club House at a dance, public, Cortner’s invited him to help furnish musci [sic].

Papa got crushing done this morning. Geo. Boll was here to sell saussage [sic], we didn’t take nothing. Papa talked with Phil Wuertz, he went past with 3 wheel wagon, broke one wheel of [sic]. Papa & Rosalia went out to Henrys, to get some milk, they took one little pig along out for the boys to take cake of. We have to feed the other two here, in a box by the chicken house, the old sow is sick won’t eat nothing. Line 18 & 7 are tangled together today, & lines 12 & 2 are going to have meeting at the school house to nite. Uncle Fred & Aunt Mary where here for supper, they came here from Christ Buehler’s, he is pretty sick, they way they said, so pale.

Emil’s birthday 49 yrs. old. We washed, hung it in basement, it is ugly out. Mr. Tecklenburg egg man paid 33¢ for eggs. Papa & Rosalia went out & got oats at Henry’s & went over & got crushing done at Christ Buehler’s.

Papa got crushing done this morn. This afternoon he went to Waterloo on business, took the eggs along got 31¢ doz. Mrs. Stauenfenbiel was over this evening to see if she could ride with us to church tomorrow. Louis Hofmeister is butchering today.

Papa got crushing done this morn. Mr. John Wiegard 30 & Mamie Kleber 21 are getting married today at Smithon [sic], with Fred & Dorthy as best, sister to the bride, & brother of the groom. They are having a dance at the Brick House, but we aren’t invited. George Boll & Ike Napier where going around selling hog meat today, we didn’t take any on account Henry butchering; he sold pork saussage [sic] & hams for 12½ & the rest for 10¢, so did Henry. Mrs. Stauenfbiel came over to see if she could ride down with us to Red Bud in the morning, she wants to go to church there.

Papa got crushing done. Mrs. Osie Neff is pretty bad sick the way they say. We had spring chicken dinner. This evening the Waterloo & Millstadt Homecoming, begin; with a dance, & band concert, & carnivals. It is cloudy & gloomy this morn. Uncle Fred & Aunt Mary, Henry & family where all up this evening, eating cake, watermellons [sic] & beer, celebrating Rosalia’s birthday. 21 yrs. old.

Papa got crushing done. There was a man here & wanted to buy eggs, from St. Louis, but we didn’t sell him any. Papa & Rosalia went out to Henry’s to get some oats. Today is Freeburg home coming. Uncle Fred & Aunt Mary came up to spend the evening here, her & Rosalia & Bert [Bertille] went down to Geo. Lorberg’s to get a watermellon [sic], but he had just sold them all in Red Bud & didn’t have no more for sale, so we couldn’t get any.

Papa went to get crushing done. Today is Mrs. Cleveland’s birthday. We all went to Wm. Sharpe’s sale on the Ritzel farm east of Waterloo, but didn’t get nothing, good sale, it was supposed to start in the morning, we took our dinner along. It rain a little this evening. Mr. & Mrs. Rennecker, & Henry & family where here this eve. Henry went to milk meeting in the school hall.

Papa got crushing done this morning. Uncle Fred & Aunt Mary came up this afternoon & then we went to Mrs. Leona Deuker’s sale got a hoe for 45¢. Most everything else brought a fair price. Oscar Matzenbacher got the kitchen range for $36.00. Uncle Fred & Aunt Mary stayed in Hecker, all nite. There is a play & dance at Broad Hollow Grange tonite, the Deuker girls are in it, they are going to move to Edgemont, where we heard Lela is going to start a beauty parlor & Ethel is going to teach the Hirst School & board, by Mayben [?] Pickett, who is going to move in Kammler’s house where Deuker’s live, Harold has a home & all furnished, so they are going to move in with him & keep house for him, he got divorce from his wife.
