We washed, ironed & patched. Papa hauled 4 loads wheat, for our share from Pabsts, got 73 bus; nice wheat. Uncle Fred & Aunt Mary came up towards evening awhile. Mamie birthday. Emil came down & papa paid him for building on barn, 30 hrs & 20. $6.00. Rosalia fed Rennechers chickens yesterday & today, they are threshing at Klotz.

We all went out to Henry’s, helped wash, iron & patch, had lunch, dinner & lunch. They finished cutting wheat, used about 130 lbs. twine; started cutting oats. Emil was shocking. Uncle Fred & Aunt Mary came this evening, brought some dewberries along, she put away 2 gal.; nice cool evenings. Rose fixed a Whip. tire, patched it.

It is terrible hot the last few days. Emil & Henry came, put the hay away 2 loads each; had 2 lunches & dinner here. There are so many large trucks passing here. I seen in the paper that South Dakota, it is so dry, dust is drifted nearly as high as the barn, just like it was snow, it must be terrible there, farmers have to go so far to get water for stock.

We washed, ironed. Henry & Emil finished the hay, this morning. Uncle Fred & Aunt Mary came this afternoon, had lunch here, we helped them pick cherries. The fire Co. men were pumping Joe Watchel’s well dry, papa helped pumped it in the tank, the water wouldn’t be used for anything, it stung & oil like.

Confirmation in Hecker today. Bischop [sic] comes, Fr.’s Harbaugh says mass with Havey & Schumacher, sub deacons; 40 children. Uncle Fred & Aunt Mary came up, Rosalia & Berti went along up to church, Mrs. Kroll was convert. Henry & Floyd was here for dinner, Leona brought Emil up, made hay this afternoon, all had lunch. didn’t get finished, hauled 2 loads in & took 2 home, so far.

Mary Fahey of Red Bud & John Dougherty of Renault were published for the 3rd time, wedding mass to be Tues. morning May 8. & Linus Merz of Red Bud & girl from [blank] were published also 3 rd time. Uncle Fred was by Louis Birkner this morning, who is sick with bad cold, fever & chills. Uncle Fred & Aunt Mary came up, then we went to Tiptown to euchre party, Aunt & Bertie didn’t play, the rest did, played 6 games. Rose won 5 got jar honey. 13 tables with euchre & pinochle & bunco & 13 prizes. Oh! some euchre; we stopped at Uncle Adam’s on way home, his birthday 85 yrs. old, they had so much company today, Levi & Joe Gregson’s, Lesters & family J. Myersough of Ruma. Papa asked Emil to help build & Cleveland also. Henry is sick, has fever & stomach trouble, got a tooth pulled Sat.
