Went to Red Bud late mass. Uncle Fred & Aunt Mary came had dinner here. Josie Keller went out to there place, she went to Oscar’s then for dinner; papa & Uncle Fred went out & pushed her car out, sticking fast in there lane out there; had supper here, & stayed in Hecker all night. Lena Meng came over this afternoon, we had 6 hand pinochle game; she paid Uncle Fred Interest. Miss Keller came this evening, she spent all afternoon at Oscars; this evening till 9:30 up here; played 500 Rummy. She didn’t no [sic – know] much news.

Henry & Leona were up, he got the team & wagon. It rained this afternoon. Mr. Ralph Ettling was here paid Interest all of it. Quite a few people have cold these days; turning colder again tonite. Jac. Reheis’s 32 yr. old birthday.

St. Patricks Day. Papa got crushing done. Wm. Ganley was here & paid interest. $31.45 still due. It rained a little & getting colder.

Uncle Fred & Aunt Mary had lunch here, he helped put up stand for the pinic [sic] tomorrow. Mr. Hill is 77 yrs. old today. Mr. Wm. Ganley was here & paid Int; $33.50, still $1.77 still due. Papa went up to Maniers Park to the meeting, the farm advisor was the main speaker. Quite a few people attended the meeting.

We had weed out of garden & corn patch. Mrs. Rennecker came over awhile. Our telephone doesn’t ring at all. Wagners either. Henry started cutting oats today. Mamie & Pete where here awhile this evening. Hy. Staleheber came & paid Uncle Fred interest. We went to Belleville in afternoon. A man was here selling grease & stain remover, we bought bottle 20¢, Oh boy & does it do the work, I’ll say it does.

We where at church. Henry came to Red Bud to around Palls corner, he went to church to, then him & papa went to Prairie Du Rocher again by Laurent to look at his mare & colt again. Ed. Schilling & Forness was published second time, & Auther [sic – Arthur] Moehrs Red Bud & Isabella Kalmer Tiptown first time. Gregson’s stoped [sic] in as they went home from church & brought a t puzzle; we worked it out already; if it is right we don’t know. Ralph Etling came & paid balance on Int. $25.85 it is now paid for 1932. We ate lunch by Uncle Freds this afternoon. Tiptown & Heckers ball team played today in the new diamond here in town. now, Hecker won 5 to 6. We drove out to Henry’s to look at the mare & cold that he traded on his cow, they wasn’t at home, so we went back again, drove out to the cemetery, around the prairie home; Uncle Fred’s went to Hy. Birkner’s birthday. We went up to Kabureck’s dance this evening, oh! boy & a good time, lot of people, hall was crowded, Rheinhardt furnished musci [sic]. The road men worked at Schender’s today, leveing [leveling?] that all of along there the road looks so much different, the hills cut down nearly all level there.

We baked bread & coffee cake. Papa & Rosalia finished strawing potatoes this morn. We went to Waterloo round the hard road, eggs are 11¢ by Connor’s; came home by the way of Paderborn, stopped at John Kruse, & looked at a mower, but he wants to much for it. Wm. Ganley was here brought Int. $25.00.

We where at Red Bud. Herman Goessling & Adelia Wagner where published 1-2-3 time, wedding is Tue. morning. Uncle Fred & Aunt Mary stayed for dinner, then we all drove out to look at bridge, where they men are working, then went to Henry’s, but was nobody home there; then we went back home again, played 2 games pinochle, they went home. Mr. & Mrs. Alfred May came to pay Uncle Fred interest, they stayed for supper, then till 8:30, they left then to go to see Mrs. Codty, who isn’t feeling so very well & also to see Ambrose Doyl’s boy at the hospital, he got operated for appendix. Mr. & Mrs. Ed. Burke have a little baby boy; & also Mr. & Mrs. Joe Kunkel. Mrs. William Koch of Coxeyville is being buried this afternoon at Waterloo Evangical [sic] Church & cemetery, she was taken to the hospital on Feb. 10 & died a week later Feb. 17, she had fell & fractured her hip; she has two sons, Roy of Waterloo & Elmer, Columbia & adopted daughter Edith Rudolph; at home, she was 59 years old.

We washed and iron & baked bread today. Papa & Rosalia got a load of oats at Henry’s this afternoon. Cyril & Clarence came down this eve, & got each a bu. oats & sack of hay for 300 for there rabbits. Aunt Mary called up this evening, she was quilting at Henry Birkners today. Ed. Meng was over & paid Uncle Freds int. Mr. & Mrs. Edwin Reheis has a little boy since Dec. 27, they have now a girl & boy. Mrs. Joe Mueth nee Brocs died at 5 o clock this eve. Papa went to town. Miss Martha Boll of St. Louis called out to Geo. Boll’s & congraulated [sic] him on his birthday. Joe Watchel is butchering.
