Rudy Geodelle’s wife is in Red Bud hospital, they had a little baby girl, it is dead buried Sat. George Wagner was here & brought the fork back. Papa went out to Henry’s help make hay, he had dinner there. He went down to see Joe. Gregson this morn, first. Bertille mailed a letter to Biebel Roofing Co.

Miss Pinkel was buried at Waterloo this morning. We have 22 little chicks from 2 hens, but them in the basement. Jake Helfrich’s the carpenter at Belleville have a little boy.

We sold 22 doz. eggs at Belleville for $3.44 some 14¢ & 17¢. George Bernius of Smithon is getting buried this afternoon there, also a sale Sieberts too this afternoon. Not such a nice Wedding day for Pearl & Lawrence Matthews. It rained at Belleville but not here. Henry & Leona the kids, came up 4 o clock, the kids stayed all night, we went along with them to Waterloo to Gus Geodell’s then up to Jac. Goedell’s, then out to Foster Pond’s the Wedding dance & an awful big crowd present. His brother & her cousin where best. Irvin Elbrecht have a little boy born today, seen in the paper.

Mr. Ed Volkmann is getting buried at Evansville this morn, last week they buried Mrs. now he died too. We washed, ironed, patched, baked bread, cleaned chicken house. There was a agent here selling kerose mantle lamps, & another party here & bought 2 dox. eggs 18¢. Ed Neff’s have a little baby boy born today 10½ lbs. Thehoders [sic-Theodore] Hellmer of Red Bud will be buried tomorrow. George Bernius of Smithon died this morning. Buddy Ettling was here a little while. It started raining a little this evening.

Papa & Rosalia went out to Henry’s this afternoon. George Frisch from Lords Corner have a little baby boy 2 weeks old, they now have 2 children. Mamie & Clarence where here this eve.
Monday, Nov. 9, 1931
Uncle Fred & Aunt Mary, Henry, Ettling, where here digging for a pond, they had dinner & supper, worked 8½ hrs. Eggs are 28¢ today. We called for Dr. Quirin to come out & vaccainte [sic-vaccinate] our pig, the old sow, is starting to get sick now. He charged $10.95, for 10 pigs. Steve Rennecker dug up his sewer today, George Wagner & Louis Dehn helped him. Mrs. Hollerback died & will be buried tomorrow afternoon. Alfred Geodelle’s have a little baby girl. They now have 2 girls.

Ambrose Doyle’s have a little baby girl christened Doris Jean last Sun. Papa went up town, he brought us a bucket water along, for the premium on dinnerbell butter boxes. Harry Kammler has a confettie [sic] & serpentine dance this evening. Victor Geodelle is giving a birthday dance at Brezzy [sic] Hill, adm. 25¢, musci [sic] by the White Ducks, Uncle Fred & Aunt Mary came up & we all went, it sure was a crowd. Harry Kammler’s was a crowd too according to machines. Papa was at George Boll’s this afternoon & settle up with him.

We went to Waterloo Church this morning. Uncle Fred & Aunt Mary where here awhile. I seen in the paper that Ed Parker’s have a little baby boy born last Sat. Also Elmer Quirin’s have a little boy. Hecker first team won 2 games, one with the All Stars.
