Went to church, at Red Bud, Fr. Aydt had the masses again, Fr. Stern is getting along fairly well. Berti went out to today; Henry & family were up had dinner & supper, Fr. Aydt came & gave us a visit, last nite him & Fr. Simon were here awhile; Uncle Fred & Aunt Mary came & Rose & Berti went to the closing of the mission service, church was pretty well filled, several priests present, renewed the vows, etc. Rained a little. Pierre Laut got ½lb. butter. Clem Parker’s have a baby girl born last Thurs; christened Elizabeth Louise, Betty, Mr. & Mrs. Geo Parker, sponsors. Henry went to see E. Parkers about chix [? – unclear].

Uncle Fred & Aunt Mary were up early; also came last nite, Rose went to church with her; Uncle & pap went out to Uncle Adam’s, he fell again today; while Aunt Mary was there, he carried a rocker out in the kitchen, & then was going for his rocker, & fell on the floor. Emil was at Joe Gregsons. Uncle Fred & pap helped Emil get him to bed that evening, Levi & Clara came here after church, to see how he was, but Emil had called for them to come, so they & Joe’s all went out yet, he couldn’t stand it in bed; pap stopped in this morn. went he went out to the woods, going to get the doctor, he thinks it is fractured hip, Josie was out all nite. Pinkel agent for Nobbe chev. Co. was here wanted to see pap trade cars. Ed. Parker & Fr. Simon came also to see pap, & he wasn’t home. A year ago today Margaret McDermott died. Mr. Ed Weber & Gus Stehfest have new cars the paper says. Rose & Aunt Mary went to church.

Berti ironed. Uncle Fred & Aunt Mary came, she went to mass. Pap went out in the woods. Mrs. Hy. Birkner is awful sick again, they don’t allow no visitors now. Frieda Buehler is out there now. Uncle Fred hauled wheat to Red Bud, got 99¢; she helped to quilt awhile they came again this evening Rose went along to church; the church was packed; Fr. Simion asked & answered questions this eve.

Pap & Rose went to mass. Fr. Aydt had it, Stern is sick in Red Bud hospital. Beautiful day. Ed. Parker was here.

Berti has the mumps on both sides. Pap went in the woods this afternoon. Clara Wagner came & got 3 cheese balls for 10¢ sell them 40 doz. Colder this morning, ground frozen hard. Made 2 lbs. butter.

Ash. Lent beins, Berti has the mumps on 1 side this morning. Bernice brought the mail. Rennecker got 1 qt milk. Rose went up to Ahren’s, just to the house, Mrs. Ahrens was buried this afternoon, church & Stehfest cemetery. We didn’t get to lenten devotions Berti, has mumps. Rain this morning, colder tonite. Eggs – 23¢ today. Roads are terrible muddy at present, so many wagons & buggies passing these days.

Washington Birthday. Pap got crushing done this morn. Henry did also, stopped here awhile. Floyd has the mumps now. Mrs. Renneker came & got some cottage cheese, also Lauts & a fellow here yesterday from Millsdat [sp] – looking for shoats, we sent him out to Henry’s, he bought them – 6 – $35. They say Walter Neff & Slyveria Helfrich are being married in St. Louis today.

Rose & Berti took the wash out to Henry’s; Uncle Fred & Aunt Mary came up this evening, & we went up to the Ladies Aid Euchre in Kammler’s Hall; played bluey for a quilt, dresser scarf, towel for 10¢; Mrs. Rosemeir of Red Bud got the quilt, Mrs. Joe Griffin the scarf, Bert Thompson the towel. Geo. Lorberg attendance prize, pillow cases; we each had 9 points got sauce pans; Uncle & Aunt got nothing had 6 points, the crowd was pretty fair, people from Valmeyer were here; they also had sleeper tickets for themselves, prizes also seperated [sic]. Henry Birkner have a baby girl born on 18 Feb. christened it Louise Maria – Elmer & Bessie sponsors; she is very sick, had the priest out.

Berti ironed. Uncle Fred & Aunt Mary were up had dinner here; Joe Griffin was here talking radios, Uncle Freds, going to get one like ours now, getting tomorrow, from J. Griffin $21.- there old radio. Nun from Marrisa was here wanted to buy oats. The Farm Bureau has euchre in Red Bud tonite in the school hall there. Clara Wagner has a quilt in for the firemen’s, Rose helped this afternoon. Cecelia Pour & Harold Eichenseer have the mumps; now.
