We all went to Belleville to church this morning. We had a little shower of rain this afternoon. Rosalia & Bertille went up to Mamie’s, then we walked the streets awhile, she came along home with us. Uncle Fred brought us some more plums this morning we got 5 qts & 11 glasses of Jelly now.

Henry & Emil where here for lunch, dinner & lunch. He Sure had trouble today with his binder, I guess if that wouldn’t of happened, he would of been done up here. Uncle Fred & Aunt Mary where up this afternoon & evening, she brought a 1/2 gal. cherries along. I can 1/2 pint. It is awful warm these day, generally around 96° & 98° to 100! Vic Eichenseer was down today.

Papa went out to help Henry shock the rest of the wheat, then it is finished. He had lunch & dinner there, came home about 2 oclock. Then we all got ready & went to Waterloo, & came by the way of Red Bud home. This evening Uncle Fred & Aunt Mary came & Mr. Hy. Stalebher to pay int for John to them, & Steve Griffin & Elmer Kammler to see Uncle Fred, about lights. We washed, ironed, patched today & canned 2 qts. cherries that Aunt Mary brought us 1 gal. & 1 can beans.

Today is baking day. Papa, Rosalia went dewberrying this morn, they got 3 gals. We got 4 qts from them & rest in jelly. Papa is helping shock wheat again, Emil is also helping today. Papa was there for lunch dinner & lunch. Rosalia came home to put the Berry’s away. This evening she has to drive out & get him again. We all went out to Uncle Fred’s this evening to pick berries, we got 1/2 gal, Lonia was picking this afternoon & she got 1 gal, Aunt Mary gave us a 1/2 gal of cherries. We all & Uncle Fred & Aunt Mary drove down to Oscars Birkner’s to pay him for the cow, but we didn’t get [out] of the car.

We sure did have some rain last night. Uncle Fred & Aunt Mary was here for lunch this afternoon then her, & Bertille went over to Ed. Meng’s, took them some flower, & brought some of there’s back. Mrs. Rennecker canned 41 qts. of cherries, she still has a few on the tree yet. Papa is setting posts today. Jac. Helfrich & his wife where injured in an automobile accident in Belleville the other day. Mr. Laut & Stuart where talking to Papa in the field this afternoon, Mr. Hill & Meng also. Mr. Klinkhardt from St. Louis is out visiting in Hecker by Mrs. Pour. Mr. Hill & him & others where playing pinoche at Griffins this morning & this afternoon. Her is leaving with bus this evening.

We canned beets & sauerkraut today. Leona & the kids were up this afternoon, but they didn’t get off of the machine, she came up to get some things from the store. It is nice & warm again this afternoon. Ed Meng was over tonight and wanted to know if he could get the lime dust spreader tomorrow. In Belleville everybody is donating for the jobless.

Today is Mrs. Cleveland’s birthday. Leona called up this morning & said “that Olivia called up & invited us all to go to Clevelands tonight.” So we all went out there, there was a big crowd there. Beer & cake were served. We washed, ironed, patched, baked bread, coffee cake, cakes today. Mrs. Reinecker came home this afternoon from Dehn’s, Perter is the same yet she said, I guess she is going back tomorrow afternoon. Tomorrow morning she wants to can tomatoes and cabbage.

Rosalia & Bertille went out to Uncle Fred’s this morning to pick dewberries. We picked about 2 gallons. We canned 2 gls. today and made the rest is jelly. We took Aunt Mary’s curtains along home and washed them for her. We had lunch out there this morning. Kuhus brothers started cutting wheat in our field this afternoon. Mr. Kuhus is sick in bed with rheumatism. Yesterday was Ike Napiers birthday, but they didn’t have no dance. This evening Kuhus brother-in-law was here and looked at our little leghorn chick. Uncle Fred and Aunt Mary were also here. Papa went out a little while to help Kuhus shock wheat. Pete Wachtel and Louis Armstutz, Uncle Fred helped a little while this evening too. Papa and Uncle Fred went up to the new school this evening to get some benches. Uncle Fred took 2 of them. Aunt Mary, Rosalia, Bertille went over to Mrs. Rennecker. She showed up her garden. They finished fixing the church steeple today.
