Uncle Fred took wheat to Waterloo she [Aunt Mary] stayed at Uncle Adams; he isn’t good at all. Pap went out Henry’s all day had dinner, helped finish his job. Was in Waterloo paper J. McDermott & Rose Korando were married at Ava by Fr. Schumacher on June 10 at 9 clock mass. she comes from near Cora was teacher in Jackson & Randolph for past several years. Jack still working at Security Hospital at Menard; wedding breakfast was at Logan Hotel Murphysboro, departed for short honeymoon were attended by cousin Grace Korando, & Chas. Irose nephew of groom; will make there home in Chester. Quite few weddings in Waterloo. Horn – Hergenroeder, attended by Al. & Walter Horn cousins of groom & Grace & Alice Axley cousins of bride & Werling & Rubemeyer. Dougherty nee Elvira Haudrich have a little baby born last week, now have two.

Today is “Billy” Kammler’s birthday.  He is 2 yrs. old.  Gus Hempe and a man from St. Joe were here this afternoon & got our little colt for $40.00.  They didn’t have it so nice to load her, she wasn’t used to any trucks.  They got her on & away they went.  Papa & Rosalia went out to Henry’s to got a load of wheat, then Papa went to Red Bud with it.  Mr. & Mrs. Mike Wedel had a accident near by Waterloo, when they were crowded off of the hard road.  The Hecker School will open on Tuesday, Sept. 2 Gregory Mcarthy teacher.  Broad Hollow on Sept. 2 by Miss Mary Havey teacher.  McQuillen School Sept. 2 by Miss Lela Deuker teacher.  Hirst School Sept. 2 by Miss Ethel Deuker teacher.  Blackburn School Sept. 2 by Miss Klinklenberg of Marystown teacher.  Grace Axley the Marini School.

Papa & Rosalia went to first mass this morning.  Uncle Fred & Aunt Mary & Papa went in to Gambach’s this morning.  Uncle Fred & Aunt Mary was at our house for dinner today.  After dinner we all went up to Eichenseer’s corner and stood around there awhile.  Rosalia & Mamie & Angela & Bertille went up to see the new school.  It rained this evening.  There were an awful lot of people going in and out over at Gambach’s this afternoon.  Grace Axley was also up here.
