Papa & Rosalia drove up to church to first mass, because it was raining. Then second mass, Rosalia and Bertille drove up. It rained mostly all day. Mamie Eichenseer came down in the afternoon. She ate lunch with us.

Papa, Rosalia, Bertille went out as far as the church lane & Uncle Fred & Aunt Mary met us there. Then we went to Mrs. Geossling’s sale. In the evening Uncle Fred & Aunt Mary came up. When we came home from the sale we took Uncle Fred & Aunt Mary all the way home and had supper with them.

Rosalia was at church this morning. Bertille scrubbed upstairs. Henry Braun the census enumerator was here this morning. Papa went up to the bank this afternoon and gave Father Grootens a check for $149.00. He gave $100.00 for building of new school, $20 for masses, $27 for pew rent, $2 for brick. We saw the license in today’s paper for George Dudenhoeffer and Estelle Forester from St. Louis. The marriage license was in the Belleville News Democrat paper. We will have 5 hen hatching on the 2nd of May. We sent 6 hens on the 24 of April. Ed Kaiser is sporting a new Ford Coupe. Henry Birkner’s have a little boy. It was born about 9 o’clock this evening. They got him christened Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. George Parker were sponsors. They called him Zeno Birkner.

Today is Alfreda Wittenauer’s birthday and also Elmer Parker’s. Uncle Fred & Aunt Mary have an invitation to come to Parker’s this evening. There is going to be a dance there. We are not invited. Papa, Rosalia went out to Henry’s this morning to get some straw and a few other things. Bertille went to church. Uncle Fred & Papa went to Waterloo this afternoon. They brought souvenirs along for the women. They gave egg timers and for the men a key knife. Aunt Mary stayed at our house. They ate supper with us. Bertille took 4 dozen eggs to the store and got .21¢ a dozen. Farther Grootens and Clement Parker was at our house this afternoon. They wanted a wheelbarrow, but we didn’t have any so they went over to Joe Wachtel and there got one.

Papa, Rosalia, Bertille went to Mrs. Hirst funeral today. Uncle Fred & Aunt Mary went along with us. In the evening Uncle Fred & Aunt Mary came up & then we all went to the dance at Kammler’s Hall given by the Hecker Baseball Club. Admission .50¢ each. They took in about $50.00 clear money. They sold 135 tickets. We found 15 eggs.

Leona, Robert & Floyd were here this morning. Rosalia and Bertille washed and ironed today. Papa, Rosalia, Bertille went out to Henry’s this afternoon to get some posts. Rosalia & Bertille got their hair cut today. Uncle Fred & Aunt Mary were here a little while this evening. From here they went to Hirst’s to wake for her.

Today is Easter Sunday. But Nobody came. So in the afternoon we drove out to Aunt Mary’s for supper. We just got home and got the chicks put away and everything done, and it just poured down rain, thundering and lightning. The way we heard Kean’s found Mrs. Agnes Hirst death in bed this morning. If she would have lived until May 20, she would of been 69 years old. She is to be buried Wednesday afternoon, services at home and then to the private cemetery. There is to be a dance at (inlegible) Schaefer’s tonite. It is his birthday but we were not invited.

Papa went down to Pabsts to get some wheat. Clarence Pabst has new machine, a DeSoto. Papa is hauling cinders from Louis Armstutz quarry. Papa, Rosalia, Bertille, Uncle Fred, Aunt Mary went to lawn the grave at the cemetery this evening. Afterwards Uncle Fred and Aunt Mary came up here for a little while.

Papa, Rosalia, Bertille went out to Uncle Fred’s this morning and then Aunt Mary, Papa, Rosalia, Bertille went to church. After church we all went out to Aunt Mary’s for dinner and supper. Papa learned Uncle Fred how to drive his machine. Henry & family were here for dinner and supper. Henry and Leona went to Belleville in the afternoon. In the evening we all went to church. The Evangelicals had church this evening too. We found 23 eggs.
