We all went out to Uncle Fred’s again to help to make hay, we were there for lunch, dinner & lunch. Today is Mrs. Frank Birkner’s birthday. Uncle Fred & Aunt Mary went. Today is also Mamie Eichenseer’s birthday.

Today is Willard Gambach’s birthday. Had he lived until today, he would have been 27 years old. Today is also Ralph Ettling’s birthday. I heard they were going to celebrate it tonight with a dance. But we are not invited. I send a check to the Athens Lumber Co. this morning for sewer pipes amounting to $15.40. The thrashing machine came here about 4 o’clock this evening. They didn’t finish here yet. We got 108 bu. so far. We got one load tomorrow morning. We were all out at Ettlings this evening. We sure did have a good time. We came home at 2 o’clock. Cake and beer were plentiful. They had fireworks.

Today is Henry’s birthday. He is to be 26 years old. It is also their second Wedding Anniversary. Papa went to Waterloo this morning and this afternoon to the sale at Burksville and one at Ruma. Tonight there is a dance at Adam Braun’s barn, Broad Hollow Grange. There are quite a few. Papa, Rosalia, Bertille, Uncle Fred, Aunt Mary were all at Henry’s this evening. The only ones that were there. We had cake and beer. Uncle Fred & Aunt Mary went to the show. They said it was pretty good.

Rosalia drove out to get Uncle Fred & Aunt Mary. Henry came up and then they all worked on the sewer again. They got it finished about 4:30. Uncle Fred, Aunt Mary, Henry were all here for dinner and two lunches. Leona & the kids didn’t come along. Today is Irene Neff’s birthday. She is going to be seventeen years old. In the evening Rosalia, Papa, Uncle Fred, Aunt Mary went to the cemetery. After they came back Rosalia, Bertille went to church, Aunt Mary too.

Today is Papa’s birthday, he is 52 years old. Uncle Fred, Aunt Mary, Henry & family were all here. Uncle Fred brought his accordion along. Music, ice cream, cake, cookies, lemonade were had. Papa was at Waterloo today.

Today is Floyd’s birthday. He is one year old. Papa, Rosalia, Bertille & Aunt Mary went out there in the evening. Those present were: Mr. & Mrs. Gus Geodelle & Raymond, Mr. & Mrs. Dan Geodelle & family, Uncle Fred. Lemonade and cake were the refreshments served. Aunt Mary was at the quilting this afternoon. Floyd got his hair cut today. He got 2 pairs rompers and 2 pairs silk socks and 1 pair stockings for his birthday. Mr. Henry Schneider was here handing tickets around to vote for him as County Judge on April 8 primary election. We found 29 eggs. Aunt Mary had supper with us this evening. We were asked to come to Mrs. Joe Wachtels tonite to help to make paper flowers. They were going to make lilies. They made some sweet peas already.

Papa & Rosalia went out to Henry’s this afternoon. Papa and Henry are going to James Cody’s sale and Rosalia is going to stay by Leona. Bertille stayed at home. Today is Irv Rapp’s birthday. There is to be a party, but we were not invited. Uncle Fred & Aunt Mary are going down to Red Bud this afternoon. It is also Christ. Buehler’s birthday. Lester Gregson moved on the Thompson place last Wednesday. He intends to haul milk. He wants to buy Griffin’s route, the one Elmer Lother drives. If he got the route he was to start today. Bertille took 3 dozen eggs to Eichenseers this afternoon and got .21¢ a dozen. Mamie & Angela Eichenseer are coming down tonite to keep Bertille company. We found 20 eggs.

Uncle Fred & Aunt Mary, Henry and family were here for dinner. After dinner Papa, Rosalia, and Bertille went out to Aunt Mary’s and had supper there. Today is Aunt Mary’s birthday. Those present in the evening were Christ Buehler and family, Oscar Birkner’s family, Adam Eckerts family, George Parker’s family, Mr. & Mrs. Louis Birkner, Mr. & Mrs. Henry Birkner, Mr. & Mrs. Henry Brand and family, Mr. & Mrs. Frank Birkner. The evening was spent in dancing and playing cards. Lemonade and cake were served. We came home at 11 o’clock.
