Roberts 9 yr. birthday, we went out, dinner & supper; Uncle Fred & Aunt Mary, Geodelles, Hilda, Walter & Emil, were there. Willie Doyle came here, bought 1½ bu. sweet clover seed, @ 9¢-$8.10; cloudy & warm today. Sure lot cars passing by. We went over to George Wagners tonite, social conversation, had apples.

Monday, Aug. 27, 1934

We washed, ironed. Went to Waterloo got the Whip repaired, took nearly all afternoon; Rosalia & Bertie went by Mrs. Geodelle awhile; & took in the town. Wheat is 94¢ & hogs $7.45.

Tuesday, Aug. 14, 1934

Peter Haupt rich miller of New Athens killed himself Sat. evening; financial worries was the cause the paper read. Henry & Floyd were up, he cut hay, made a load; had dinner & lunch. Hilda Klube is visiting out there since Sun.

Eunice Blackburn’s birthday. Hilda Staufenbiel’s. We washed, ironed. Uncle Fred was here this afternoon, he took Aunt Mary & Lonie out to George Parker’s, to visit Mrs. who is sick. George Wagner & family came over this evening, ate watermelons, we was up at Belleville at a meeting first. Heat is terrible today.
