Priests are being Ordained at Cathedral this morn. Cloudy again this morn. Bert [Bertille] washed car. Pap went to Fiedlers farm sale at Burksville. It rained nearly all over yesterday but here, heavy rain out at creek.

Cut lawn, washed, ironed. Mr. Walsh extension Magazine seller, we took it from him, now till 1939. took rosary premium, he will be ordained in 2 years, he says, this helps him along. We had nice shower this eve. Hy. brought 100 lbs. growing mash down. Harry Wittenauer was here, we were there by him this eve. to look at his sow & pig; didn’t buy them, to high price.

Threshing all day, here for lunch got 218 bus. together wheat (wheat here 72 for 3) & all day out there till 4:30 got (738)1/3 246 share) bus. oats. Boy! some heat. Margaret Mary Myerscough youngest daughter of John Myerscough got the name Sister Mary Angelita. Hy Spalts got baby boy Wed. morn. also Eberhardts nee Katie Keorber last month.

Monday, May 18, 1936

We washed, ironed; cool & cloudy. Ralph Rausch brought $10 for ballground suppose to be $15 – but that is all they had left – from what they took in last nite, he said; the crowd wasn’t so good. Steve Rennecker came awhile this morning. There are quite a few birthday today. Rev. Stheve [sic – Steve] Freund was ordained in priesthood yesterday at Worthington Ohio, will say his first mass at Waterloo June 7 9:30

Friday, Sept. 13, 1935

Mrs. Rennecker brought flower slips over. Papa & Rosalia went out to Henry’s again to make hay; had lunches & dinner. A real estate agent Mr. Wolf of Freeburg was here, left his card. Mr. Stephen Freund & Richard Crow left for Worthington Ohio for school last week, Freund for his last year & there to be ordained, & Crowe first year Josephium College. Uncle Fred & Aunt Mary came got coffee.
