We went to Belleville this morn. Papa went to Red Bud this afternoon. Uncle Fred & Aunt Mary took Josie to Belleville this afternoon, she wants to visit by Faust, then go to St. Louis.
Friday, Nov. 27, 1931
We went out to Aunt Mary’s this afternoon to sugar cure there meat. This eve, they came up here with Josie stayed till 2 o clock, then we had sausage supper.
Wednesday, Nov. 25, 1931
Papa took Jac. Neff out to Henry’s butchering. Uncle Fred & Aunt Mary & Josie came here awhile, they had been by Chris. Buehler. Mr. Harbaugh was here this evening.

I seen in Sat. paper the marriage license for Ed. Neff, 24 & Emma Braun 20, they where married Sat. night, by Fr. Grootens in Nic. Schaefer’s house in St. Clair Co. Best where Vic. Braun & Erna Braun. Today is Uncle Fred’s birthday, he is 57. We went out this eve, there was a bunch there & they danced. Uncle Fred had to get Josie again. John Braun was here on business. Leomade [sic-lemonade] & cake where served at Birthday.

Henry came up & got the plow. Mrs. Kern was here & brought the money for the beef, that she brought from Henry. George Parker’s had shooting match yesterday on geese. Papa went out to Henry’s, Cleveland’s, & Buehler’s. Uncle Fred & Aunt Mary came up this eve. he took Josie down to Heyl’s again. Eggs are 28¢.

Papa got crushing done this morn. This afternoon we all Bertille rode along with Uncle Fred to Waterloo to Mrs. Geossling’s sale it was held by Louis Gessoling. Mrs. sold her farm of 80 acres, for $2,000,100, so she is going to stay by Louis now, we bought 15¢ worth of the sale, everything went cheap. Uncle Fred & Aunt Mary & Josie Keller where here tonight & played pinochle till 12 o’clock. Uncle Fred got her from Ben Heyl’s.
Thursday, Nov. 12, 1931
We fixed a brick wall around the house for flowers today. Uncle Fred & Aunt Mary where up this afternoon, we helped her take her daliahs [sic] up. Miss Josie Keller is coming to Uncle Fred’s Sat. night, she is by Ben Henyl’s now.
