We all went to first mass this morning.  Today Bill Matzenbacher and Viola Bestmann are getting married.  They are going to have a wedding dance at Oak Grove this evening.  We all went to the dance.  Roy Staunbiel & family were all her this afternoon, they was here for supper.  Mr. & Mrs. Edgar Herzog furnished the music for the wedding dance.  They received quite a few presents at the hall.

Thursday, June 26, 1930

Uncle Fred & Aunt Mary had breakfast with us, then Uncle Fred went home with Lester Gregson & came back up again with Roy Stavenbiel. Papa and Uncle Fred went to work at the school.  Papa went on Henry’s place all day.  They had dinner and also supper with us.  After supper we took them home.  Aunt Mary stayed all day.  We dug some of our potatoes the other day.  They sure are nice.  Eggs are .17¢ today.

Wednesday, February 12, 1930

Today is Lincoln’s Birthday & also Roy Stavenbiel.  It rain a little here this morning but after awhile the sun came out nice.  Ed L. Parker was here this morning, looked over our little chicks.  Papa was up town this morning.  Bertille patched this morning.  Bertille went up to Mamie Eichenseer’s to help quilt.  We found 16 eggs.  Clifford left his over shoes here last night and he came tonight to get them.  Rosalia got a Valentine.  Ha!  Ha!  She don’t know where it came from.  There was no name on it.  Elmer Retihinghouse was visited with a Stork on Abraham Lincoln’s Birthday.  It is a little boy and also Willie Weig’s have a little son.
