The Hecker Y.P. League are having a play The Wild Flower of the Hills, & dance after, musci [sic] furnished by Pete Bros. We didn’t go. It rained this afternoon, Papa went to Mr. Eckert but couldn’t make no trade, & got a load of wood. This afternoon he went to Waterloo & got our shoes fixed, we all got them repaired $2.50. The hall was crowded this evening for the play. Adm. 40 & 20¢.

We washed, ironed, patched today.  Today is Church Picnic at Ruma and one in Belleville.  Papa went to Red Bud this morning with a load of wheat, he got .82¢ a bu.  He took Bertille’s shoes along & got them patched for .75¢.  Henry Armstutz was here a little while this evening & told Papa if he wanted to he could cut some of the corn.  Rosalia went up to get the mail then she went over to see Mrs. Rennecker a little while.  Mr. Dehn is still the same, he is getting absent minded now.
