April Fools. Pap went in woods finished hauling wood. Bert [Bertille] cleaned bedroom, & hall etc. Uncle Fred & A. [Aunt] Mary came, were at Belleville brought a curtain stretcher along for me [Bertille]. Transfer in Waterloo paper of Dav. & Joe. Donahue to Bill Donahue. Huber McDermott is selling the furniture etc. of Catherine McDermott at Log Cabin on 16 Apr.

Thursday, March 31, 1938

Went to Leo’s, washed, ironed, cleaned bedrooms etc, they sawed wood this afternoon; we had dinner & supper. Mr. Orlet is out there also; helpers sawing wood were John & Chas. Mueth, Jake Joe Krebs; finished, tomorrow saw Jake’s. Leo & his dad went to requiem high mass at Paderborn church. Uncle Fred & A. [Aunt] Mary, Emil were here this eve. Walter Pour’s have a baby boy; I guess that makes family 9.

Wednesday, March 30, 1938

Raining last nite & morn; showers on & off today. Bert [Bertille] cleaned closets etc; baked cookies this morn. Pap fixed fence.

Thursday, April 10, 1930

Aunt Mary and Bertille went to the sewing circle at Mrs. Eckerts this afternoon for the last time.  Aunt Mary had supper at our house.  Uncle Fred came later in the evening to get her.  Rosalia & Bertille washed the dining room windows this morning and also the curtains.  Mamie Eichenseer came down to get Rosalia & Bertille to go up to Lena’s to make flowers tonite.  We have them all finished now.
