We ironed, patched. Nice again today after the rain. Uncle Fred & Aunt Mary, Henry & family, Emil, Mr. Cleveland, were here for lunch, dinner, lunch. Robert got a fish, took it along home. Uncle also for supper, all worked on barn, all standing & nailed shut, on sides; Rosalia cut her a dress out. Aunt Mary was talking to Frieda Bueheler, she told her, they were going to move on Skaer’s place, were Bill Geodelle now lives, he is going to move, on Threfall’s farm; some moving around Oh! Boy.

Saturday, Feb. 14, 1931

Uncle Fred/Aunt Mary were here a little while this morning & from here they went to Christ Jensens’ sale 4 miles north west of Waterloo & then back again to Mrs. Threfall’s, she is selling household goods, brooder house, farm implements.  Christ Buehler’s are figuring coming on that place.  We got our Chicago Mail Order catalog today.  Adam Eckert’s baby is awful bad sick, it has it in his throat.  Tonight is Masquerade Ball at Smithton.

Monday, Sept. 22, 1930

We washed, ironed, patched today.  Uncle Fred & Aunt Mary were here this afternoon a little while, from here they went to Red Bud to Chris Buehler’s, it is their wedding anniversary.  Oliver Kammler is playing accordion over at George Wagner’s.  Ralph Ettling was here, he paid his $98.00, he still has a $100.00 to paid yet.  Peter Watchel had a accident by Grohmann’s lane up by Belleville.  He was by himself when it happened, but he didn’t get hurt so very much, because he went to work again today the way they say.

Monday, Sept. 8, 1930

Today is Cletus Buehler’s birthday.  Leona called up this afternoon to come out this evening and peel apples.  So we went out.  The rest helping present were, Mr. & Mrs. Gus Geodelle & Rayomond & 2 Lenhardts boys, Mr. & Mrs. Peter Reheis & family, Joe Geodelle & wife, Dan Geodelle & family, Edna Geodelle & husband & children from St. Louis, Mr. & Mrs. Fred Birkner.  We peeled 4 bus. of apples.  We found 16 eggs today.
