Pap got haircut. Uncle Fred & Aunt Mary stopped on there way home from Benedick’s sale at Red Bud, Hy. Frisckorn bought the place $600.00. We went to Belleville this afternoon. Berti got 2 teeth pulled $3.50 & xray was $2. Maniers have fish fry tonite. Hy Limbach came this evening. Ralph Etling came on business. Viola Einwich is celebrating her birthday at Floraville.

Wednesday, June 17, 1936

We all went out to Henrys, all day, came home for supper. Rose went home at noon to feed; Finished cutting wheat & started oats. We washed, ironed out there. Uncle Fred & Aunt Mary came this eve. they were at Mrs. Benedick funeral, Grandsons carried her, Benedick, Oscar, Bill & Henry Birkner, Roy Gregson, Ben Schilling; Awful hot day.

Monday, June 15, 1936

We washed, ironed. Henry & family came, cutting wheat, Leona on the binder, pap shacking, had lunches, dinner & supper. Uncle Fred & Aunt Mary were up this evening. Mrs. Staufenbiel came to see Aunt Mary. Mrs. Frances Benedick 92 yres. old of Red Bud died, will be buried Wed. Red Bud church & Freeburg cemetery.

Sunday, Aug. 19, 1934

Went to Red Bud. Mr. George Gregson is being buried this afternoon from the home of his daughter Mrs. Hy. Benedick to Catholic Church & cemetery. Uncle Fred & Aunt Mary stayed awhile; went home. We all went up to Firemen’s Pinic [sic] at Manier’s, this afternoon, but not very much doing, no people there, free drawing in afternoon, music by Ellirs band; tonite by Moonlighters Adm. 25¢ got lot of fish, we had 2 sandwiches, we have chances on 2 quilts, 10 gals. gas, crushed rock, cold package $2 each; laying mash, etc. 10 chances in all for 10¢. We all went out to Cleveland’s this evening to a party, watermelon, cake, lemonade, beer, nice crowd, musci [sic] by Miss Miles Goedell’s, & Norman Heyl. Miss Martha Schilling & Joe Neary were published first time at Waterloo today.
